The Chinese would like you to hush, North Korea will hear!

EDIT: As for the actual topic.

The greatest issue facing mankind is our ridiculous population growth, for sure.

When you think about how insane it is that we go out of our way to preserve life, and how much that upsets the natural order. And how horrifying it is to think that.

There's literally no answer.

We're going to get to a point where we literally suffocate one another?

f***.

I disagree with that. There's still enough room for more than twice the Earth's current population without even resorting to undersea life. I think we'll be colonising space long before we get anywhere near that stage.

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

There is literally room for all that people yes but twice the people means twice the livestock, twice the amount of farmland and that leaves little room for everything else.

I hate that we're so selfish it is our problem really.

What we need is to be united under an empire that will get s*** done, drastically, executions and stuff as "evil" as it sounds as SaiyanHajime said we preserve life way too much.
We treat humans like we're more important than the planet they live on, even the scumbag murdering humans and its just silly.
If we lived in a united society where you had to help out or just be kicked out of your home and left to rot we'd be on the mend, teenagers wouldn't be able to sit at home making babies all day adding to the problem of population and shortage of supplies.

Too many people live a cosy lifestyle for things to change it needs to get harsh, people need to get motivated to contribute due to the fact that if they don't they won't have a home to live in.

Not likely to happen though we value even useless people too much, we let morals hold us back from progression.

They're very close to being able to produce meat without needing livestock. At the moment the process is very lengthy and expensive but I reckon it will be the norm in 50 years.

That's actually a good point, but we need to consider how many labs are going to have to be set up for growing live tissue for consumption. It's just completely impractical, and would be considerably more costly than simply raising livestock.

All I can think about is Soylent Green.

Wouldn't need that many labs if it could be mass produced easily. A few factories and distribution centres would be enough. Plus think how much land we could get back off the farmers and put towards building more houses.

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

At what point will we have "enough" houses and people though?
You have to consider that while there is space, a lot more than just the space for the people and houses is needed, the burden on forests is another issue there a lot more wood would be needed for them and furniture etc places like the Amazon would just be gone.

I don't like the thought of growing meat that sounds really dangerous in that we can grow meat, who the f*** needs animals? Let's turn the whole planet in to a city, screw everything except pets!
Sounds ideal for poor places and times of food/livestock shortage but that's it relying on that makes animals next to useless and most domesticated ones wouldn't survive in the wild so it's that or just kill them.

I think genetically modified crops should be looked in to more, ones that grow faster so a field doesn't need to be made any bigger but can yield either double the amount of crops or several harvests a year, fast growing trees too that would be awesome. Everyone seems to moan about anything genetically modified though, maybe it doesn't taste as good but so long as it doesn't instantly give you cancer or another illness so what?

A simple method of 100% contraception would go a long way too.
I'm sure scientists are probably working on these anyway but they need to be funding priorities sooner rather than later(not to brush stuff like cancer/AIDS away)

upps you might be right mate

nonetheless it does not change the fact that the capitalism is everything but good

Oh yeah let the 1% of the people own the 90% of the overall wealth

let the BIG EAGLE costs billions and billions for weaponry whilst a huge number of people cant even get 1 usd /day

If everyone were even.....non of these problems would exist...
